I. Objectives:

At the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to practice the vocabularies and structure/function some more.

- Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by getting two groups of three to go to the front of the class to chant What subjects do you have today? And do actions. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm or does actions.

Nga and complete the timetable.

- Get them to look at the timetable and guess the subjects they can ue to fill the gaps. Then sts read the text to find the information to complete the task..

- Give sts time to do the task.

- Tell pupils that they are going to find by out how to ask and answer questions about things someone likes doing.

- Ask them to look at the four pictures to identify the characters (Nam, Peter, Mai and Tom) and the context in which the language is used. Ask them questions such as Who are they? Where are they? What are they talking about? (in picture a Nam,Peter, Mai are visiting Tom’s house. In Picture b, Nam tells his hobby, using I like reading. In Picture c, Peter says to Nam and Tony is listening to music. In Picture d, Quan asks Tom What are they doing? and Tom says I am reading a book.

2. Point and say

- Tell pupils that they are going to practise asking and answering questions about what someone likes doing.

- Have them look at the bubbles to understand how to ask and answer questions about things someone likes doing. Teach the words and phrases watching a video, listening to music, writing a dictation, reading a text

Ask ss to say the question and the answer chorally and individual.

- Ask ss to practise in pairs.

* Work in pairs. Tell ss they are going to pratise using What are they doing?

Let's play

- Tell pupils that they are going to play the game What's she doing?

- Stick a large sheet of paper with nine hobbies on the board. Divide ss into groups of five. One ss in group A will mime one of class phrases on the board on the board and ask What's she doing?

The other group guesses the hobby. The ss of group A will say Yes/No. The quickest group to put a tick next to the correct phrase on the board and say the correct sentences will get five points.

- Tell pupils that they are going to practise asking and answering questions about someone’s hobbies, using What are they doing? 

- Do the task with two pupils. Put the questions and the answers on the board and do choral and individual repetition.

- Ask them to work in pairs: one asks the questions and the other gives the answers about their own hobbies.
